Findings of field trials in the Farm of Birsa Agricultrual University, Ranchi revealed that out of eleven insect pests infesting linseed (Linum usitatissimum), budfly (Dasyneura lini) appeared as key pest and capsule borer (Helicoverpa armigera) were found to feed on green capsule. Pooled data revealed that out of 62 germp1asms screened, LMH5–28, LMS-91-8, SLS-12, KL-I78 and NL-88 were found to be resistant to D. lini which gave rise to appreciable seed yield. However, R-552 received maximum yield (1046.65 q/ha) followed by RL-1011 (1000 q/ha), Chambal (998.3 q/ha), KL-I78 (958.30 q/ha), NDL-8803 (956.3 q/ha) and JLT-26 (941.65 q/ha).
