Abstract

In vitro test on spore gemination of Erysiphe pisi, extracts of Azadirachta indica bark (NBM) and Cyperus rotundus showed inhibition of more than 80% of spore germination at 500 ppm followed by extract of Ocimum sanctum, Cashew nut shell, Zingiber officinale rhizome and Madhuca indica leaves. NBM and CRE (ethyl acetate extract of C. rotundus rhizome) showed excellent results in reduction of disease intensity. On the other hand, ginger, tulsi, mahua, cashew nut extract were also effective at 2000 ppm in vivo. Combined effect of NBM and methanolic extract of C. rotundus rhizome (CRM) resulted only 10% disease intensity as compared to control. CRM, NBM alone as well as its mixtme showed considerable effect on increase of test weight of seeds as compared to control.
