Abstract

Studies were carried out of different weather elements on prevalence of aphid vectors viz., Myzus persicae and Aphis gossypii for two consecutive winter seasons, revealed (i) negative correlation between vectors population and minimum temperature, (ii) positive correlation with maximum and minimum R.H. Rainfall, which was rare and sporadic in winter seasons, had no significant effect on vectors population. The findings further indicated that vector population was dependent on temperature and R.H. Multiple correlation study among weather factors with vectors population also indicated that, these factors were mainly responsible for the population build up of vectors and were responsible up to the extent of 71.3–88.4% for build up of M. persicae while in case of A. gossypii, the population build up was to the extent of 61.7–76.6%.
