Field trials were undertaken to determine efficacy and residues of fenpropathrin and fluvalinate inion chickpea. The objective of investigation was estimation of residues of these synthetic pyrethroids, in order to judge whether the pesticides residues found at harvest on chickpea were acceptable for human consumption. Fenpropathrin and fluvalinate were sprayed separtely @ 80and 160 g a.i.ha−1and 40 and 80 g a.i.ha−1, respectively at flowering stage and repeated at pod formation stage. Residues were determined inion the chickpea foliage, pods, straw and grains. Effect of decontamination process on the dissipation of residues was also studied with growth and yield of chickpea.
