Abstract

Consumption, digestion and utilization of bio-pesticides treated food material by Spodoptera litura was evaluated under laboratory conditions. Least food consumption was recorded in neem oil and neem seed kernel extract treatments (0.64 & 0.55 g, respectively) in cotton and (0.55 & 0.52 g. respectively) in castor. Consumption Index (CI) was the lowest in neem oil (1.16 & 1.25, respectively) in cotton and castor. Growth rate (GR) was higher in castor than cotton. Approximate digestibility (AD) was higher in castor than cotton.
