A field trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of beta-cyfluthrin and lambda-cyhalothrin against Helicoverpa armigera in chick pea. Both the insecticides were found superior to untreated control in reducing the pod damage. Higher dose of insecticide gave better grain yield as compared to its lower dose. Lambda-cyhalothrin at 50 g a.i./ha recorded the maximum yield of 13.75 q/ha. In terms of incremental cost benefit ratio (ICBR), beta-cyfluthrin 25 g a.i./ha treatment gave fairly high ratio (1 : 9.22) closely followed by its lower dose (1 : 7.01).
