Abstract

Preferential distribution of Brevipalpus californicus on foliage of Citrus sinensis cv. Jaffa revealed that tender leaf growth stage had significantly low population of the mite (1.4) compared to mature leaf (5.0). The mite preference in decreasing order was mature > young > tender leaf growth stage. Mid rib region of tender, young and mature leaves had maximum mite population compared to apex, base, margin, veins of lamina and petiole. Abaxial leaf surface harboured the maximum mite population.
