Spatial distribution of the aphid, Myzus persicae was studies on cauliflower, Brassica oleracea var. botrytis. Various indices of dispersion viz. variance mean ratio, dispersion parameter-K, mean crowding (μ*), LIoyds index of patchiness, Iwao‘s regression fitting and Taylor’s power law suggested that the aphid species exhibited contagious population distribution in the field. Values of Iwao's regression analysis showed that aggregation was mainly due to aphid colonies rather than individual.
