Field trails were conducted in farmers' holdings to evaluate the efficacy of spiromesifen 240 SC against chilli mite. In first field trial, spiromesifen @ 72,96 and 120 g a.i./ha recorded 83.8, 86.6 and 91.7 % mean reduction of chilli mite population, respectively whereas, in the second trial, it was 82.0, 88.0 and 92.3 %, respectively. Spiromesifen 240 SC showed better efficacy than dicofol 18.5 EC. Spiromesifen @ 120 g.a.i./ha was superior in the control of chilli mite. But the lower dose of spiromesifen, 72 g.a.i./ha was economically viable, if applied at early stage of mite infestation. Spiromesifen was found to have long lasting efficacy on chilli and at 120 g.a.i./ha reduced the leaf curl damamge from 41.8 to 12.5 %. Application of spiromesifen at 240 SC did not produce phytotoxicity.
