An integrated approach to manage the incidence of Lipaphis erysimi in mustard, indicated that two clippings alone in timely sown mustard crop (up to 31st Oct.) were highly effective in controlling the aphid incidence (with no dependence on insecticide) along with increased grain yield (1855 kg/ha) as compared to late sown crop (857 kg/ha). This gave a net profit of Rs. 13,972/ha. Two clippings of aphid infested twigs in late sown crop were also effective in minimizing the incidence but only for a period of 20 days and only a single application of insecticide was required avoiding at least one application. Among nine treatments applied in late sown crop, neem kernel extract (in cow urine) - 3% + dimethoate - 0.03% was found to be most effective in minimizing the aphid incidence and in increasing the grain yield (1532 kg/ha) with maximum net profit of Rs. 9,110/ha.
