Persistence of chlorpyrifos on eggplant fruits for the management of shoot and fruit borer, Leucinodes Orbonalis Guen.

Studies were carried out to evaluate the residue behaviour of chlorpyrifos when applied at normal (350 g a. i. ha⁻¹) and double the normal dose (700 g a. i. ha⁻¹) on fruiting stage of egg plant. The residues were quantified from the consumable fruits using GC that revealed the initial deposition of residue on the fruit was 0.253 and 0.546 μg g⁻¹, respectively which dissipated with a half life of 7.34 and 7.56 days for two treatments.
