Abstract

A new dorylaimid species, Xiphinema arubreviensis sp.n. collected from rhizosphere of coffee at Yercaud Hill, Salem, T.N., was described and illustrated. It is characterized by having a ventrally curved body cuticle with elevated, truncate lip region continuous with the body contour, 142 μm stylet, 54 μm odontophore, anteriorly located guiding ring, two pairs of caudal pores, more posteriorly located dorsal oesophageal gland nucleus and its orifice and lower c value.
