Effect of a new compound, emamectin benzoate, derived from the secondary metabolites of a fungus, was studied in boll worm complex management in cotton. Emamectin benzoate 1% EC at 11 g a.i./ha was found to be effective in controlling the boll worm complex giving highest yield of seed cotton without exhibiting any phytotoxic effect and adverse effect on natural enemies followed by emamectin benzoate 5% SG at 11 g a.i./ha.
