Abstract

Incidence and succession of thrips complex (Thrips palmi, Scirothrips dorsalis, Colerothrips collaris & Haplothrips sp.) leafhoppers (Amrasca biguttula, Empoasca motti & Empoascanara sp.) and whitefly, Bemisia tabaci associated with three potato varieties planted on five different dates were studied. A significant decrease in type and number of thrips species was recorded in delayed planting up to 15th November. In the first two date of planting up to 30th September, highest population of thrips were recorded. The maximum incidence of leafhopper and whitefly were observed in first three dates of potato planting. However, whitefly incidence differed significantly in different dates of planting. Varietal preference and their interaction with planting dates did not differ significantly in case of whitefly.
