All the fungicides tested caused significant reduction in mycelial growth and conidial germination of Alternaria alternata. Mancozeb proved most effective in reducing mycelial growth and spore germination followed by copper-oxychloride and difoltan. Mancozeb, copper-oxychloride and difoltan were found effective in reducing the disease intensity also. Garlic clove extract was found most effective plant extract in inhibiting the mycelial growth and conidial germination followed by neem and datura leaf extracts. All the plant extracts were found effective in checking the disease significantly over check.
