Abstract

NPK 60:30:30 kg/ha supplemented with zinc sulphate @ 25 kg/ha as basal dose harboured significantly low population of brown planthoppers than application of corresponding NPK dose alone without zinc sulphate. Higher NPK level @ 120:60:60 kg/ha sheltered highest hopper population among the nutrient levels tested. The interaction effect between nutrient levels and insecticides resulted a high degree of compatibility of nutrient level (F3) i.e., 60:30:30 kg NPK/ha + ZnSO4 with granular fipronil in minimizing the population of hoppers to a lowest level (5.25/hill).
