Insecticidal application was initiated at the economic threshold level (3 larvae M−1 linear row) and the subsequent application at pod initiation. The larval population was recorded before and after spraying at different intervals of 3, 8 and 14 day after treatment. The larval mortality varied at different intervals after treatment at both the sprayings. However, the highest larval mortality was noticed in Lambda cyhalothrin @ 50 a.i. ha−1 at 3 DAT and it was also the highest in case of Ha NPV-450 LE ha−1 at 8 and 14 days after the insecticidal application. Based on two year studies, the highest yield in Ha NPV-450 LE ha−1 which was in parity with Ha NPV-350 LE ha−1. On the basis of overall performance of these ecofriendly pesticide Ha NPV-450 LE ha−1 or lambda cyhabthrin 50 g a.i. ha−1 may be applied for controlling the gram pod borer in chick pea.
