Effect of Sowing Dates and Genotypes on incidence of Pest Fauna in Sunflower with Farmers Participatory Approach

Field traits were conducted in a farmer's participatory approach to identify suitable sunflower hybrid and appropriate sowing time to reduce pest incidence and to get higher seed yield. The sunflower hybrid, KBSH-41 recorded highest seed yield (13.40 q/ha and 13.00 q/ha during 2003 and 2004, respectively) with reduced pest incidence during both the seasons. The appropriate sowing time for sunflower was between 15^th June to 15^th July with reduced pest attack and higher seed yield as compared to August sowing.
