The study was conducted to observe the build up and persistence of Pasteuria penetrans population in root-knot nematode in two consecutive root-knot susceptible crops. Results revealed that P. penetrans was found to persist in soil even at a low spore encumbrance level i.e. 5 spores/J2 of M. incognita with the increase in initial spore load the bacterial endospores recovered after harvest of the second crop increased significantly.
