Abstract

Studies evaluated the dispenser for attracting Leucinodes orbonalis using indigenously synthesized pheromone lure. It was observed that the pest was active throughout the crop period except severe months. The major activity of the pest was recorded maximum (19.33 moth/trap) in 43rd SW (last week of November) during 2005–2006 and same moth population trap was recorded in 44th SW (first week of November) during 2006–2007, respectively. Significant positive coefficient of correlation was recorded between moth trapped with maximum, minimum and average temperatures during both the years. This indicated that temperature was an important weather factor governing the population of this insect pest.
