Nematicidal Activity of 4-Amino-5-Aryl-3-Mercapto-1,2,4-Triazoles against Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchulus reniformis

Twenty eight new 4-amino-5-substituted aryl-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles were tested in vitro for nematicidal activity against Meloidogyne incognita and Rotylenchulus reniformis. Few of these compounds showed good activity, highest being shown by 5-(2, 4-dichlorophenyl)-4-amino-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole and 5-(2-chloro-5-nitrophenyl)-4-amino-3-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole against both the nematodes. The activities however, were found to be less than triazophos, a commercial nematicide.
