The pest activity started to build up from first fortnight of May reached its peak in second fortnight of August, and then gradually declined up to first fortnight of December, 2007. It was also observed that the beetle population and number of scars per 5 cm2 significantly correlated with maximum and minimum temperatures, relative humidity at 14 hrs and rainfall. Regression equation explained 91 and 97% variability due to weather parameters except relative humidity at 7 hrs for scarring beetle infestation in banana.
