Abstract

Four insecticides, viz., sevin 50 WP (carbaryl), dursban 20 EC (chlorpyriphos), thiodan 35 EC (endosulfan) and monocil 36 SL (monocrotophos) were tested at 0.05 and 0.1 % concentrations against poplar leaf webber and 0.05% concentration against bag worm. All the insecticides were significantly better than the untreated control. Single application of insecticide @ 0.05 % effectively managed the leaf webber, but to manage the bag worm, repeated applications of insecticides, based on density of pest population were required.
