Among the treatments, fipronil 40WG @ 1g/l and carbofuran 3G @ 10 kg/ha were superior to rest of the chemicals by recording least silver shoot incidence (8.0 & 8.8%, respectively) and high % reduction over control (81.0 & 79.3%, respectively) and also recorded highest grain and straw yield, and the next best treatments were profenophos 50EC @ 2 ml/l and thiamethoxam 25WG @ 0.2 ml/l. Higher B:C ratio of 1:3.04 was obtained from carbofuran 3G @ 10 kg/ha followed by profenophos 50EC @ 2 ml/l and fipronil 40WG @1.0g/l with B:C ratio of 1:2.77 and 1:2.52, respectively. Among the botanicals, soap nut extract + neem oil @ 2.5+2.5% (17.0% silver shoots) was found superior followed by Randia spinosa @ 5%, Gnidia glauca leaf extract @ 5% and nimbecidine @ 3 ml/l which recorded an average of 23.1%, 23.2% and 24.9% silver shoot, respectively and highest % silver shoots were recorded in untreated check (42.5%) which was on par with Strychnous nux vomica leaf extract @ 5% (40.1%).
