The results indicated that the IPM module, M-III comprising of repeated application of acephate proved to be the best with maximum reduction in pest population (69.7, 52.2, 40.5 & 60.9% at 5 DAS after first, second, third & fourth spray, respectively) followed by IPM module, M-II (Adaptable module). IPM module, M-I with only ecofriendly approaches proved to be ineffective. There was no significant effect of planting date (i.e., June first fortnight in M-I and June second fortnight in M-II) as well as the use of lucerne as strip crop (in module I & II) on mirid bug management. The maximum square and boll shedding (14.22-32.10 & 12.45-14.27/pl, respectively at 5 DAS) were observed in M-I as against minimum noticed in M-III (8.21-18.27 & 4.14-7.98/pl, respectively at 5 DAS). Among the different IPM modules, the highest yield (16.58 q/ha) was obtained in M-III, which resulted in maximum net returns (T50,731.00/ha) and BC ratio (21.82: 1.00) followed by M-II which registered 14.00 q/ha yield with T 42,662.50/ha net returns and 19.95: 1.00 IBC ratio.
