The repellent and anti-oviposition effect of twelve polymeric seed coats containing azadirachtin-A alone and another twelve coloured polymeric seed coat containing both azadirachtin-A and anthocyanin were evaluated against Callosobruchus analis. The polymers used are amphiphilic in nature and used for coating seed of soybean (Glycine max). The study revealed that repellency effect was higher in azadirachtin-A containing formulations than the coloured formulations. The highest repellent effect (94%) was found on the malic acid and polyethylene glycol-1000 based polymeric formulation containing azadirachtin-A (P2M2-AZA). All polymer coated seed significantly reduced oviposition of C. analis. Coloured polymeric seed coats exhibited higher oviposition-deterrency against C. analis. No choice test for oviposition-deterrency was recorded higher number of eggs laid than free choice test. The least number of egg counts was detected in succinic acid and polyethylene glycol-1000 and 1500 based polymer coats containing both azadirachtin-A and anthocyanin (P2S-AZA-ANT & P3S-AZA-ANT).
