Evaluation of biopesticides against Capsicum pests under protected cultivation

Abstract

Among the insecticides abamectin 1.8EC @0.5 ml/l was found most effective in reducing mites and crop damage (1.3 mites/5 leaves & 30.6%) followed by econeem. With respect to thrips count and its damage, thiamethoxam 25WG @ 0.2 g/l and difenthiuron 25WP @ 1g/l found effective (0.65 & 0.7 thrips/5 leaves and 27.7%, 32.7%, respectively.) whereas in case of Spodoptera litura significantly decrease larval population, crop damage and fruit damage was observed on the crop treated with acephate 75SP @ 1 g/l recording (0.1 larva/branch, 33.4% and 24.5%, respectively.
