Efficacy of insecticides against Linseed budfly (Dasyneura lini Barnes)

Abstract

Based on budfly infestation and % reduction of bud infestation foliar spray of spinosed 45 EC @ 0.0096% was found most effective with highest yield (17.68 q/ha & 19.47 q/ha) and benefit: cost ratio (12.26:1 & 15.93:1) followed by imidacloprid 17.8 SL@ 0.0045% with yield (14.75 q/ha & 16.65 q/ha) and benefit: cost ratio (8.21:1 & 12.46:1) during 2010–11 and 2011–12. The efficacy of different treatments was spinosad @ 0.0096% >imidacloprid @ 0.0045% > thiamethoxam @ 0.005% > novaluron @ 0.02% > proclaim @ 0.002% > indoxacarb @ 0.006% > endosulfan @ 0.07%, respectively.
