Abstract

Among the different bait stations evaluated, the highest consumption of bait was recorded with banana sheath with an average daily bait consumption of 10.66, 12.99 and 9.74 g at maximum tillering, panicle initiation and milk stages of boro rice, respectively whereas, in sali rice, the average daily bait consumption of 13.41, 14.74 and 10.41 g was recorded at maximum tillering, panicle initiation and milky stages respectively. The interaction effect showed that the highest bait consumption was recorded in banana sheath at panicle initiation stage (12.99 & 14.74 g/day) and the lowest was recorded in open paper baiting at milky stage (5.33 & 6.08 g/day) of both boro and sali rice, respectively.
