Abstract

In present study various non-edible deoiled cake extracts (aqueous & crude bioactive) were evaluated against J2 of Meloidogyne incognita. The results indicated that jatropha deoiled cake extract produced best results in killing nematode larvae followed by neem and karanj cake extracts. At 48 hrs of exposure, jatropha aqueous extract killed 97.5% nematodes (J2) as compared to 90.1% by neem and 81.2% by karanja cake. mahua cake extract was found to be least effective as it killed only 37.8%. Crude bioactive constituents did not show encouraging results. At 1000 ppm, maximum mortality achieved was 43.3% by Crude phorbol esters followed by saponins (37.2%), azadirachtin (22.4%) and karanjin (17.2%).
