The studies revealed that the treatments comprising seed treatment with thiomethoxam 70 WS @ 3 g/kg seed followed by two foliar applications of imidacloprid 17.8 SL @ 0.4 ml/L at 15 days interval was found superior over all other treatments in terms of statistically minimum mean population of whitefly (2.15/5 plants) and lowest mean percentage of MYMV incidence (14.18) with significantly higher yield (10.94 q/ha) over rest of the treatments as well as untreated control. However, the net return/unit cost was highest (1:8.24) with acetamiprid 20 SP followed by dimethoate 30 EC (1:7.75) and clothionidin 50 WGD (1:7.06) in alone treatments.
