Abstract

Field trials were conducted to evaluate neem based formulations and organic chemicals against fruit flies, Bactrocera cucurbitae in bottle gourd resulted that carbofuran 3 G @ 25 kg/ha was provided maximum reduction in fruit infestation. The neem based formulations were effective up to second spray over control during both the years and may be arranged in following descending order: NSKE > nimbicidine > neemol > neemgold > rakshak > neemazal > NLE. From the economic point of view, the maximum yield and benefit cost ratio ’ 59.63 and 19.66 per rupee investment were obtained from malathion 50EC @ 1.0ml/L and NSKE treated plots, respectively.
