Abstract

Rakshak fruit fly trap was found most effective to bottle fruit fly trap that, trapped 35.1, 17.3 and 15.2% more fruit flies during kharif, summer and rabi seasons, respectively. Methyl eugenol was most effective during kharif and summer seasons but cue-lure was most effective during rabi season. Maximum fruit flies were trapped during summer season. Bottle fruit fly traps baited with methyl eugenol dispensed cotton wick and replenished at two month interval provided most economical and trapped 394.12 FFs on/rupee investment during summer season.
