Abstract

Controlled release formulations of imazethapyr based on PEG-PLA amphiphilic polymers is reported. Reatments T3 (PEG 400-PLA 253), T4 (PEG 400-PLA 373), T5 (PEG 400-PLA 414), T6 (PE6 600-PLA 253) and T10 (PEG 1000-PLA 373) provided better weed control with Weed Control Efficiency (WCE) of 81.8, 88.3, 83.4, 82.8 and 81.8%, respectively compared to commercial formulation 10% SL with WCE of 74.1%. Treatments T7(PEG 600-PLA 373), T8(PEG 600-PLA 414) and T9(PEG 1000-PLA 253) were at par with control with WCE of 77.3, 70.8 and 77.3%, respectively. There were no residues in soil and soybean seeds after harvest.
