The infestation of Nilaparvata lugens was effectively controlled by application of fipronil + imidacloprid 80 WG and found to be most effective and significantly superior over all other treatments (8.42 hill−1). Rynaxypyr 0.4 G stood second in order of effectiveness which recorded 9.13 hopper population hill−1. Treatment with fipronil 0.3 G proved next effective treatment by recording 11.33 and found at par with cartap hydrochloride recorded 11.64 hopper population hill−1. This was followed by chloropyriphos, carbofuron and phorate in which 13.23, 14.56 and 15.53 hopper population hill−1 observed as against 22.61 hoppers hill−1, respectively in untreated control. The highest grain yield of rice (43.54 q ha−1) was obtained in a treatment with fipronil + imidacloprid.
