Abstract

Seven bio-pesticides were assayed against Scirpophaga incertulas on rice viz. neem excel, pestoneem, rishab, neem raj, achook, prithvi and neem oil. Two concentrations, one as per label recommended dose and the other double the recommended dose for each treatment were tested. Among the bio-pesticides evaluated, before inflorescence stage, neem excel (0.03g a.i.) was found to be most effective giving least infestation of 0.95% dead-hearts and after inflorescence, neem excel (0.03g a.i. & 0.06g a.i.), pestoneem (0.15g a.i. & 0.3g a.i.), neem raj (1g a.i. & 2g a.i.), achook (0.03g a.i. & 0.06g a.i.), prithvi (1g a.i.) and neem oil (1g a.i.) proved no white-heads infestation at 21DAT. All the tested treatments proved to be significantly different (P<0.05) performance for both before and after inflorescence against dead-hearts and white-heads, respectively over control up to 21st day of treatment.
