Abstract

Among nine insecticidal treatments, monocrotophos 0.05%, quinalphos 0.05%, fenvalerate 0.015%, endosulfan 0.07% and profenophos 40 EC + cypermethrin 4 EC (0.044%) were found the most effective treatments. Whereas, the treatments of dichlorvos 0.05%, profenophos 0.05% and methyl parathion 0.05% were moderately effective for the control of C. critica. The maximum seed yield of pigeon pea was recorded in the plot treated with monocrotophos 0.05% (1510 kg/ha) followed by quinalphos 0.05% (1488 kg/ha), fenvalerate 0.015% (1405 kg/ha), and endosulfan 0.07% (1390 kg/ha). The maximum % increase in seed yield of pigeon pea over control was recorded from the treatment of monocrotophos 0.05% (52.8%), followed by quinalphos 0.05% (50.6%), fenvalerate 0.015% (42.2%), and endosulfan 0.07% (40.6%).
