Abstract

Among the treatments, fipronil 0.3 GR was found to be statistically superior as noticed higher germination (38.3%) lowest incidence (4.1%) increase in yield (83.37 t/ha) and obtained maximum net profit ( 3.09 lakh/ha) followed by chlorpyriphos 20 EC and phorate 10G when applied at the time of planting and observation were recorded at 60, 90 and 120 DAP. The next best treatments were imidacloprid, cartap hydrochloride and thiamethoxam. However, all the treatments were significantly and statistically better than control with 27.3%, 11.8%, 12.8%, 61.20 (t/ha) and 1.33 lakh/ha being noticed on germination, shoot borer and root borer incidence as well as yield and net profit, respectively.
