Abstract

Two field trials were conducted during rabi 2011 and 2012 to evaluate newer insecticide molecules against groundnut leaf miner in rainfed conditions. During the 2011 and 2012 field trials at 15 days after second spray, in spinosad 45 SC @ 0.018% sprayed plots 1.7 and 0.8% leaf miner infestation was observed respectively as against 18.2% in untreated control. Imidacloprid 200 SL @ 0.005% with 2.2 and 1.7% infestation was the next best treatment and it was closely followed by novaluron 10 EC @ 0.01%. Groundnut pod yield was significantly higher in spinosad 45 SC @ 0.018% (1500 kg/ha) followed by imidacloprid 200 SL @ 0.005% (1376.67 kg/ha) and novaluron 10 EC @ 0.01% (1321.67 kg/ha).
