Abstract

A field efficacy of seven pesticides viz. dimethoate 30 EC, dichlorvos 76 EC, chlopyriphos 20 EC, phosphamidon 40 SL and quinalphos 20 EC, were conducted in Irongmara field. Two concentrations viz., as per label recommended and half of the label recommendation for each pesticides were used. Among the tested pesticides, quinalphos (0.012 g a.i) afforded mostly cent per cent mortality of immature and adult mites. This proved to be the most effective pesticides for controlling Tetranychyus cinabarinus on brinjal among the seven pesticides. Quinalphos (0.012 g a.i) also proved to be more effective compared to other pesticides. And least mortality was recorded by chlopyriphos (0.004 g a.i) in adult stage whereas in case of immature stage least effective was shown by chlorpyriphos (0.002 g a.i.). Study revealed that the treatment of these pesticides showed significant effect (p<0.05) against both adults and immature stages resulted significant effect at all the dates after treatment.
