Abstract

The present investigation was conducted to evaluate triazophos 40 EC, clothianidin 50 WDG, buprofezin 25 SC, lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC, thiamethoxam 25 WG, imidacloprid 17.8 SL, acetamiprid 20 SP and Metarhizium anisopliae WP against brown plant hopper The infestation was effectively checked due to spray of clothianidin 50 WDG and proved to be most effective treatment (1.40)/hill. The next better treatments in order of effectiveness were buprofezin 20 SC, acetamiprid 20 SP, thiamethoxam 25 WG and imidacloprid 17.8 SL, lambda cyhalotrin 5 EC, triazophos 17.8 SL. The biopesticide M. anisopliae was observed to be comparatively least effective though relatively safe to natural enemies. This was followed by buprofezin, imidacloprid, acetamiprid, thiamethoxam, clothianidin’ triazophos and lambda cyhalothrin which were proved moderately safe to natural enemies in rice ecosystem.
