Abstract

The inoculation with Glomus intraradices enhanced peanut growth and increased its dry matter more than 2-fold compared with non-inoculated control, in both sterilized and non-sterilized soil in a pot culture study. Significant differences in the yield of pods and seed were obtained between inoculated and uninoculated treatments and also sterilized and unsterilized soils. Contents of phosphorus, zinc, copper, manganese and iron in peanut plant exhibited marked increase over uninoculated control due to mycorrhization in sterilized and unsterilized soils.
