The mortality of both the nematode species was found to be concentration and period of exposure dependant. At 1000ppm, the % mortality was 76.0 and 80.9% in Thevetia and Ricinus oils, respectively after 72 hrs of root knot nematode. Similar trends were observed in reniform nematode. When both the oils were esterified with the chemical reactions, the toxicity to nematodes enhanced. Comparatively, esterified Ricinus oil was more toxic to root knot and reniform nematodes than Thevetia esterified oil.
Esterified oils, Meloidogyne incognita, Ricinus communis, Rotylenchulus reniformis, Thevetia nerifolia
