Abstract

A total sample of 600 farmers were selected randomly from thirty different villages of the three districts. All 58 ITKs were collected and documented. The percentage of different ITKs practiced by the farmers ranged from 8.7 to 72.5%. The average extent of use of ITKs were found to be 9.0, 8.3 and 7.53% in Tinsukia, Dibrugarh and Sibsagar districts, respectively. The majority of the respondents (43.2%) were included in low user group and least number of respondents (6.7%) in high user group. Application of Bamboo sticks/branches in rice fields (2.5%), use of fish water in citrus (54.6%), application of wood ash in vegetables (70.5%), use of dry neem leaves in godown (43.5%) and straw wrapped around the tree trunks were found be to common in usages.
