Abstract

Among the foliar diseases of urd bean, yellow mosaic disease (YMD), cercospora leaf spot (CLS), antrhracnose and urd bean leaf curl disease (ULCD) were most prevalent and recorded. As the incidence of these diseases were high and cause severe yield loss, the effort was made to manage these diseases using different chemicals, viz. imidacloprid, carbendazim, tebuconazole, trifloxystrobin and propiconazole in single or in combination were evaluated using as seed treatment and foliar spray and an effective management module was developed. The two years pooled data indicated that all the treatments were effective to mange YMD and CLS and antrhracnose compared to control. For YMD and ULCD, foliar spray with imidacloprid (0.05%) was found to be superior followed by seed treatment with imidacloprid + carbendazim and foliar spray of tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin (0.1%) with the maximum yield 439.83 kg ha−1. For managing CLS and anthracnose foliar spray of tebuconazole + trifloxystrobin (0.1%) and seed treatment with imidacloprid + carbendazim was effective. Increase in yield calculated for different treatments over control ranged from 77.7% to 88.5%.
