Efficacy of indigenous plant products against Greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella larvae

The highest larval mortality (48.3%) was observed in the treatment with citronella oil (3%) @ 3ml/50cm³ wax comb being at par with dried tobacco leaf powder @ 3g/50cm³ treatment causing 44.9% mortality. However, spray of citronella oil (3%) resulted about 4.44 times more larval mortality at 10 days after spraying of the plant products as compared to control. Moreover, the larval mortality of Galleria mellonella was 4.00, 3.67, 3.78, 4.44, 4.11, 4.22 and 3.78 times more with the treatment neem oil (3%) @ 3ml, neem seed kernel extract (4%) @ 3ml, dried neem leaf powder @ 3g, citronella oil (3%) @ 3ml, garlic clove extract (4%) @ 3ml, dried tobacco leaf powder @ 3g and tulsi leaf extract (4%) @ 3ml, respectively as compared to control.
