Abstract

Residue analysis of pesticides in food matrices demands stringent regulation and monitoring. Due to the varied nature of each food matrix and multiple types of pesticides being applied on them and multi-step extraction procedures involving the mass transfer of under-processed commodities often yield misleading results. Matrix matched calibration proven to be a remedy for removing the scope of false positive and false negative results occurring due to the matrix-induced enhancement and diminishing effects.
