Abstract

The field investigation was carried out in Rabi season of 2022-2023 at Central Research Farm (CRF), Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, India. The experiment was laid out in Randomised Block Design (RBD) with eight treatments each replicated thrice using a variety Green Soccer- 546. The treatments viz., Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 % SC (0.5 ml/lit), Spinosad 45% SC (0.5 ml/lit), Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin 0.9% SC (1.5 ml/lit), Beauveria bassiana (1 × 108 CFU/ml) (2 g/lit), Nisco sixer plus (2 ml/lit), Neem oil 5% (5 ml/lit), Emamectin benzoate 5% SG (0.45 g/lit) and along with an untreated control were used against Plutella xylostella infesting cabbage. The data on larval population of diamond back moth over control on first and second spray overall mean revealed that all treatments were significantly superior over control. Among all the treatments Chlorantraniliprole 18.5 % SC showed lowest larval population (0.88), (0.31) followed by Spinosad 45% SC (1.08), (0.46), Emamectin benzoate 5% SG (1.13), (0.60), Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin 0.9% SC (1.17), (0.71), Nisco sixer plus (1.24), (0.84), Beauveria bassiana (1 × 108 CFU/ml) (1.31), (0.93), Neem oil 5% (1.70), (1.06) and control (3.28), (4.33). The highest yield and cost benefit ratio was recorded in Chlorantraniliprole 18.5% SC (295 q/ha), (1:4.40) followed by Spinosad 45% SC (280 q/ha), (1:4.24), Emamectin benzoate 5% SG (278 q/ha) (1:4.00), Novaluron 5.25% + Emamectin 0.9% SC (259 q/ha), (1:3.98), Nisco sixer plus (258 q/ha), (1:3.84), Beauveria bassiana (1 × 108CFU/ml) (233 q/ha), (1:3.60), Neem oil 5% (195 q/ha), (1.2.83) and control (158 q/ha), (1:2.29).
