Abstract

In the present studies callus was induced from different explants like the shoot apex, nodal region and leaf. The sterile explants were than transferred int MS. Media containing of BAP 0.5mg/l. callus was obtained from all explants and in case of nodal region multiple shoots are produced. Callus formation was observed earlier from the leaf segments than the nodal regions. The colour of the callus ranged from white to green. At the end of one week of sub-cultured explants the intensity of callus was increased and maximum callus was noticed. Multiple shoots are obtained from nodal region and from the callus formed near the nodal region also obtained the growth of multiple shoots through organogenesis.
