Effect of solid waste on enzymes like DNase, AT pase and peroxidase in rice seedlings were studied. At lower concentration (5% s.w.) the activities of enzymes were increased. However, they were progressively reduced at higher concentrations. The results showed a high degree of mercury accumulation in the rice seeds and less in seedlings.
